A Taste of Jalisco, Rooted in San Antonio

Taqueria El Charro de Jalisco started with a simple idea: bring the real flavors of Jalisco — slow-cooked meats, handmade salsas, and tortillas made the way abuela taught — to the Valley Hi corner of San Antonio. Every morning before the sun is up, our griddle is already hot, because in this city breakfast tacos aren’t optional, they’re a way of life.

We keep our kitchen busy from 5:30 in the morning until the evening rush winds down, serving neighbors, construction crews, families, and late-lunch regulars who’ve made us part of their weekly routine. Nothing fancy, just honest Mexican cooking: juicy al pastor shaved off the trompo, birria simmered low and slow, and salsas roasted fresh daily.
